I honestly don’t understand why so many millennials love Black Mirror. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, if you like it that’s great, but the premise of every single episode is just:
Everyone’s calling it the next Twilight Zone but at least The Twilight Zone made sure that every single episode had a different moral about how we as a human society are indefinitely screwed. It never solely focused on technology.
I just don’t get it, the writing/message is a collection of everything millennials hate and bash in other shows/books/real-world interviews with older generations.
just my grain of salt, but as i just rewatched a whole bunch of black mirror episodes, i got the sense that what black mirror criticizes isn’t technology itself, but the people and/or the ideology behind it. most of black mirror comes off to me as way more anti-capitalism than anything else.
Yeah it comes off to me as not a criticism of technology it’s self but what people in power can use it for.

It’s not about technology, it’s about how people use technology. At no point technology is criticize in itself. It relies so heavily on technology because technology is very much present in our everyday life, and it does pose some ethical and logical problems, and it’s stupid to ignore the bad sides. That’s what black mirror does
