Context: We were setting up for a new campaign and doing a “is this an okay comp?” Kind of thing. In the past, everyone else in my group has had some kind of joke character, like Pret Zel the gnome or Walkien Bohnier, half-elf fighter. I had never done one before. It’s good to mention that we do this through Roll20 and discord. I was that last one to introduce my character.

DM: Alright, we’ve got a healer, a DPS caster, and a ranger. Tara, you got a tank up your sleeve?

Me: Yes, I do! I’m going to be playing a human fighter, and, uh, I’ll just type her name in the chat.

I send a message.

DM: … Tara?

Me: Yes Jacob?

DM: DID YOU JUST NAME YOUR CHARACTER FUCK YOU ALL??
