There was on artist on Tumblr that said they have deep respect for furries now because she opened furry commissions during hard times and the flood of people wanting art and paying generous tips on top it saved her butt.

It’s weird the assumption that all furries are creepy degenerates who live in their parent’s basements and look at yiff all day.  A lot of furries are just ordinary people who happen to like dressing up on occasion, just like cosplayers, and they have 9 to 5 jobs.  Some are doctors and lawyers and business executives who would never reveal their furryness to their coworkers, but who attend furry conventions dressed as a snow leopard or bright orange fox a couple of times a year.

And good for them.  They’re doing what makes them happy and hurting no one, and clearly they’re spreading the wealth with others.
