This isn’t a coincidence! Making this song sound this way was an intentional decision by The Wall’s producer, Bob Ezrin, who thought adding the disco beat and a second verse and chorus with a children’s choir would make it a hit. Pink Floyd frontmen Waters and Gilmour predictably hated the idea at first, but grew to like the finished product.
