okay but really, rose lalonde was fascinated with horrorterrors & abnormal psychology bc a) fixating on something horrible was the only way she could ignore her own thoughts of despair that stemmed from her depression & budding Gay Awakening and b) abnormal psychology was what was going down in her house. sure she might’ve said it was for fun, or just to mess with her pals! but really she kept reading hoping that there was a solution for the neglect she faced from her mother, internally hoping that there really WAS something wrong with her mom & it wasn’t something to do with rose, because misplaced ideology in relation to abuse is Real and Fucking Horrible!
