speaking of words and their meanings I’m really confused over “queer” and “gay” because people keep flipflopping on if they are insulting or not >:/ Mainly “queer” but I remember for a little while people were trying to say not to call people gay either. 

Terfs are claiming that queer is a slur no matter the context to invalidate those who use it to refer to themselves when theyre still questioning their identities.
