Alright, the Madame is first shown shortly after the team all get separated from Mustang and Roy’s just had his little talk with Bradley. He goes into a bar, what we can assume is just typical ‘Mustang behavior’.
I’d also like to point out the hinted Royai in this panel when Madame asks if Roy should just ‘go play with Elizabeth’. This is after we learn that it’s Riza’s codename. This being in code shows that even the Madame knows about their code system and their relationship. Roy responds that ‘Elizabeth was taken by another man’, showing that Riza is no longer by his side which proceeds to worry the Madame. One of the girls then asks for a date and at this point, the first time readers have no idea about the informants.
It becomes all too clear here that this is more than just a leisure visit. Not only that, it solidifies the connection between the Madame and Grumman.
After all of this, Madame Christmas begins to collect information on Selim Bradley, discovering that he’s not even human and just how long he’s been on record as ‘living’.
During this time, everything is escalating and Roy is being watched. Still ever vigilant, Roy is one step ahead of them. It’s during this that we find out that…
Roy is not, in fact, going to the bar just for a good time and his connection with the Madame and the girls runs far deeper than a playboy and his favorite brothel. Roy’s a mamma’s boy, but these two discovered that a little too late and Roy blows up the bar as they go to enter it.
He was sure to have the Madame and the girls safe and not tracked for helping him out and didn’t want them in danger. Like Olivier Armstrong did by sending her family to another country, Roy took the closest thing that he had to a family besides his team and hid them from the higher ups.
Overall, the Madame seems to have always supported Roy and raised him well and ‘expects good things from him’ in the future. He loves her and cares for her as if she were his birth mother and she respects him and does all she can to help.))
