Since last year, I’ve seen this headline around a lot as a description of our current political divide:

But it wasn’t until today that I found out there was a response article to it:

Seriously, this shit would be cartoonish and unbelievable in fiction, and yet someone actually wrote it.

Isn’t there a word about being compelled to do something against your will? Call me silly but I was under the impression that this is, you know, generally a bad thing.

I’m sorry that “saying you should care about people and not be a selfish asshole” is such an oppressive and awful thing to hear. Life must be a real struggle for you, having been attacked by things like Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street as a child.
