So we’re in a campaign where arcane magic was used to create the universe, and the sole remnant that remembered how to use it were just one race. There were actually Elder Gods too, the ones that actually did the making. Cue a new country, Magistrum, that teaches magic in its public schooling - the only one in the world. Now, since arcane magic was used to make the universe, mages basically tell the universe to go to the corner. However, since the race tried to destroy all knowledge of it, things were relatively stable. Suddenly, a major influx of mages making reality their chew toy. To paraphrase the DM:
“The Elder Gods and the very fabric of the universe are ground under the heel of Magistrum’s public education system.”
