4th of july sure is wild bc on one hand my country’s history is built on the genocide of indigenous people, slavery that’s traumatized an entire race, Systematic Racism™️, religious freedom (but only if you’re christian!), and like, yknow, power imbalances throughout and a corrupt government that is just as fucked up as you’d think it is, but hey! at least today we can barbecue right?
