Listen… About 10,000 light-years away from here Eta Carinae may have already exploded into a hypernova and if it did and the light reaches Earth in our lifetime it will light up the southern hemisphere like a second moon day and night for a while.

Don’t trust space….

Another thing that fucks me up: we can say that the light reaching us now from Eta Carinae is coming from 10,000 years in the past. But if you were at Eta Carinae, the light reaching you from Earth would be from 10,000 years in the “past.”

In other words, there is no real “present.” Past and present are entirely relative, determined only by where you are in the universe and when the light from different events reaches you :D

ALSO have you ever heard of wandering black holes? Oh yeah. There are black holes that move and we dont have a clue why. Pretty fucked up that at any moment one could just swing on by and bam! Bye bye earth…
