Left: The Answer || Right: Now We’re Only Falling Apart

How Pearl and Garnet remember the exact same moment is honestly fascinating.

Garnet remembers “the terrifying renegade”, holding her sword straight, pointed right at her, standing like a soldier, ready to strike. She sees Pearl as something to be feared. And boy does Garnet fear her.

Pearl, meanwhile, remembers being flustered and throw off base after almost fusing with her Diamond and the conversation they’d just had. She has her sword, but she’s far from ready to attack, and she’s stunned to see Garnet again. There’s no composure in Pearl’s recollection of the moment.

And it says a lot about how the two of them see Pearl. Garnet remembers Pearl as a serious threat. Pearl remembers herself as a mess.

(of course they both remember Rose being nothing but perfect)
