I'm very sorry for asking this but I only know what seems to be a small portion of the whole story. What exactly happened recently with Riot? I know that they got exposed for having a more frat like mindset in their work rooms and that some people who spoke out about discrimination got fired. What am I missing? Can you give any more details about the situation? Thanks in advance!

Basically, after that one Kotaku article about the sexism at riot, last week at pax, Riot made a panel for women and non binary folks only, so they could talk about the gaming community when you’re not a man. (A lot of women and nb folks don’t act like they usually would when they’re with men, because of abuse and such and so, can’t really speak their mind in front of men, which is why this even was women/nb folks only.)

This send reddit on a ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE. Trying to surf on the “riot is sexist” wave, they called riot sexist for not allowing men at one of their event for 4 hours. 

Daniel Z Klein (creator of Azir, Taliyah, Tahm Kench, Kayn.) called reddit a bunch of man babies. Reddit ABSOLUTELY HATE DZK because he’s “a SJW” like they would say. Reddit got so fucking mad at him they started harassing him, calling him slur or calling his wife transphobic slurs too. DZK kinda snapped and told them to fuck off. Which is absolutely understandable. So Reddit started a harassment campagn against DZK to get him fired. Seems like it worked because today

Mattias Lehman got fired too, Reddit don’t like him either because, oh, look, he’s black and his header on twitter is a huge black live matters. Weird! I wonder why Reddit would hate him. He was also speaking for minorities a lot too.

Another fun fact, Froskurinn (lpl caster) basically said the same things but she didn’t get anything. Weird! Maybe firing a lgbt woman wouldn’t be wise for a company that’s trying to be “woke” and to respect women and minorities.

Which is why, starting today, I’m boycotting Riot. Ain’t buying no skin, no sir. They can release my long awaited Kled skin, I ain’t getting it. Their youtube videos are monetized, no more league on youtube. They get money from you watching league streams, no more twitch. Also unfollowed all their twitter accounts.

If I didn’t spend so much money on that game and had such a huge attachment to the characters, i’d be uninstaling it right now.

Riot is full of hypocrites, they don’t care about minorities. All they care about is pleasing reddit’s front page and having people think they’re a woke progressive company.
