All Might in BNHA is a good subversion of the “never meet your heroes” trope.

Because yeah, he is different and flawed compared to his public image that Deku grew to love and adore. But the core of his personality is real and honest, and Deku’s appreciation of him only grew as he knew the real All Might/Toshinori behind the smile.

Which is why seeing Deku’s room still adorned with All Might posters and toys after he already got to know the real All Might is so emotionally impactful, to me at least.
