Unpopular opinion: lots of people depict Sans to make super edgy jokes in fanon, but honestly Pap would be more likely to do this. Most of Sans' jokes in-game were puns and whoopee-cushion pranks (so basically pretty clean humor) but when you fight him in Genocide, he gets deadly serious. In contrast, Papyrus makes a Shakespeare reference and an "AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MY HEAD!" joke and keeps on smiling as his severed head lays on the ground. The true comedic edgelord is Papyrus

Sans’ jokes are the equivalent of those “joke books” you’d read in 5th grade. They’re so clean as to be incredibly lame and there isn’t one edgy or dark thing about them. The fact that they’re lame and groan-worthy and just plain terrible is the POINT.

Papyrus on the other hand…. I… I don’t know if he MEANS to make dark jokes or not… I think he just… says things??? and they unintentionally end up being hilarious but also kinda troubling???
