War…war never changes

Okay so real talk, In highschool I wanted to work on a couple of pieces for my portfolio digitally, now mind you this was just back in 2012, and I was strait up told by both of my teachers that I couldn’t because it wasn’t me making the art, it was the computer. I argued that It was a mere tool, like a pencil or paintbrush and they firmly refused and once again stated that anything made on the computer was not made by the artist but by the computer. 

I was so dumbfounded that I had no choice but to drop the subject because there was no way to make them understand that the computer literally could do nothing without my directly imputed commands. It’s like looking at a pencil and telling it to write or drawing something and expecting it to magically form shapes. It’s like looking at a drawing someone did and then saying, you didn’t do that, it was the pencil! It drives me up the goddamn wall reliving this let me tell ya.
