i dont get how people are like “hmm, the republicans are trying to undermine democracy and stripping away the rights of people as well as spreading hate and violence? well im not gonna vote unless bernie is the democrat primary”

Imagine admitting years in advance that you just can’t field a decent opponent against a cheeto in wig and having the gall to demand others just surrender their vote to you out of pity.

my priority is putting out the fire. then we can focus on rebuilding. the republicans are by far the biggest threat to democracy and they need to be voted out of office before we vote the democrats out of office in favour for independent parties.. voting independant will only split the votes and result in more republican terms.

That doesn’t make sense as you’ve explained it…don’t vote indy now but vote indy later, all you’re doing is delaying the inevitable.

You still have the core problem : the Democrat party seems fundamentally incapable of appealing to its own base and is viewed as rife with corruption..demanding people be feudal serfs and just give up their right to vote to their Democrat lords…and I gotta tell you, this message doesn’t seem to be working from what I can see..and in my head can’t work with an informed public.

Because you’re assuming that your message resonates with the voting populace, previous experience and current observation show that it doesn’t, additionally if your plan is to get a Dem in now and then spend 4-8 years shredding them to push independent parties/candidates but the Republicans remain a solid coherent group then…all you’re doing is delaying them.

Armchair psyche: liberals don’t react to authoritarian orders to vote X way  like conservatives, they don’t have the same obedience to hierarchy and a different strategy is needed…like fielding an appealing candidate who inspires them to vote, who earns the privilege.
