Can someone explain to me why Detroit Become Human was a bad game/story?
the whole slavery subtext was too on the nose and horribly executed. Forced love plots and several tropes that david cage uses in all his games. I think the only cageism that wasnt used was unexplained supernatural and an attempted sexual assault in an apartment. The story itself requires us to believe that humans (who were born in the 90s and 2000s) would be racist against robots similar to how conservatives are racist against immigrants even though in large, our generation knows that nobody is stealing our jobs, companies are just doing everything they can to screw people over and cut corners. Basically its just another shitty david cage game. a solid idea but piss poor execution
OH also i completely forgot to mention it but the whole twist of alice being an android is such a bullshit twist because in the beginning, shes fucking eating and also her not being human completely invalidates karas whole plotline. Its literally a twist that people predicted as joke predictions. you know, the ones that are so stupid that they would never happen.
One final thing; the gaping plothole that is everyone trying to get to canada because canada banned robots so its less likely theyre going to get caught when deviant. BUT the big problem that jericho is suffering is that they are running out of parts and fuel and are falling apart. And the big fucking plothole is that why are so many robots having an underground railroad to canada when canada would have NO maintenance stuff for robots!? they would fall apart even faster than in jericho because at least in jericho they scavenge parts from the junkyards and steal from the stores.
I keep hearing that David Cage sucks. A few have explained in in the post but why does he? I played both Heavy Rain and Detroit and found them to be ok enough games.
His ideas are predictable and and has a habit of reusing the same scenes like a girl about to be sexual lyrics assaulted in her studio apartment (indigo prophecy, heavy rain, beyond two souls) or needlessly complex supernatural bullshit (IP, HR, B2S) and is generally a dick. He literally put himself into the IP tutorial as himself, he completely dropped the entire reason for Ethan blacking out in HR (originally scotty would have formed a psychic link with him while he was in a coma) and in B2S, the choices literally do not matter. At all. No matter how hard you try to choose the worst choices the same thing happens. To his credit, DBH WAS his best game. Though the majority of it is because of the actors

And then slams them together under the same banner of bigotry with all the care and subtly as a sledgehammer. Androids being forced to the back of the bus to literal concentration camps. And all appearing with no warning or reason except to be a suprise to the player

I played it and I don’t think it is a bad game. But when you say there is racism I can see it now.
