not to be galaxy brain on main or anything but in mythology and literature snakes are often a symbol of fertility and rebirth and immortality which would strictly oppose grandpa harleys motif of skulls and corpses which would (obviously) represent death and mortality and due to the rather concerning amount of both snake references in hiveswap (names of the songs, the cherub key and machine, the serpent-esque monsters accosting joey and jude) and the. large amount of corpses scattered about the half-harley manor, the only conclusion is that joey is going to fucking die and be reborn, either literally or metaphorically but this is homestuck so. yeah
