imo it’s being pretty broadly telegraphed that whatever John’s gonna do will wreck the quiet world this Rose and everyone else is living in, along with the local manifestations of its ships.

Neither of those was my read – my conclusion was that assuming he succeeds Earth C will just keep on keeping on outside canon, but
John won’t be coming back.
