What’s a transmed? Nobody ever tells me anything

theyre the people who think that youre not trans until you get the surgery and say you constantly have to experience dysphoria in order to be valid

Well I definitely don’t agree with having to have surgery, but the dysphoria thing… Gonna look like a dumbass on main here: How intensive are we talking about? I mean, if you don’t dislike your current gender, why would you be trans?

Obviously you don’t need to be in agony all the time, I’m not either, but if you’re completely without dysphoria I have to wonder what the motivating factor would be. I’m probably biased by my own experience; help me out here.

Transmeds think that unless youre experiencing dysphoria 24/7 then youre faking. Now there are obvious reasons why theyre wrong like, theyre completely disregarding gender euphroria when youre able to finally express yourself properly and feel good about it or the fact that a considerable portion of the time its relatively neutral.

Transmeds are just people who try to scrutinize and gatekeep as a way to invalidate as many people as they can.

Oh, so it’s not that you don’t have dysphoria at all, but that you don’t have it all the time. Then yeah, I don’t agree with them. Thanks for explaining.

Hey! I just wanted to point out the errors in what @silver-tongues-blog wrote! All trans people experience something called gender incongruence, which is essentially a basic disconnect from your birth gender. However, many, but not all, trans people experience gender dysphoria, which is distress or discomfort because of the gender incongruence. Transmeds essentially believe that you need to experience dysphoria to be trans, but they define dysphoria as what the definition of gender incongruence is.

This explanation would make sense out of a lot of the messages I’ve been getting that disagree with Silver’s explanation. I guess I’ve been under the impression that incongruence and dysphoria are the same thing as well? I haven’t really heard that term before.

I’m so confused, there’s so many different people trying to get me to agree with them right now.
