you know, if an adult is a nice person that’s not “innocence.” they learned how to actively be a good person. they’re not some eternal child

also i’m gonna be real why is it that being nice in general is seen as a childish or immature trait

Because being nice gets you taken advantage of a lot more than being an asshole. It makes you naive. Like a child

you’re right, “i like to be mean because it benefits me. being nice is for babies” is a very mature attitude

no not mistake kindness for naivete. Anyone who claims kindness only ever gets abused are the very same people who would try to abuse a kindness. They make those broad statements as a way to try and wash away any personal responsibility they have to not be an asshole.

Basically; anyone who says you have to be mean to survive are just trying to excuse their own asshole behaviors.
