Silver Tongue

I was asked a few times for some more Ganondorf headcanons so, here’s a really quick profile doodle to go with them! <:

- This incarnation of Ganondorf is in his late twenties/early 30s. For a half-blood, he’s fairly large, about 7′8 in height with the broadness to match. He a BICC BOI

-Ganondorf’s non-Gerudo parent is a Goron, which could attribute to why he’s larger than what’s typical of a half-blood Gerudo. He takes quite a bit after both of his parents: he has his Ma’s temper, strength, and impulsiveness but his Da’s gentle, protective nature. While we’re talkin’ about family, I’m honestly considering making Urbosa his aunt, but I’m not entirely set on that idea yet.

-For those of you who don’t know, apparently Demise is the first incarnation of the villainy that the world of Hyrule had faced, a literal demon. When it was defeated, it vowed vengeance and that it’s hatred would continue on to exist even if its physical form was lost, and that’s exactly what happened: Ganon was born out of that Malice. With that context, what I’d like to think is that Ganon is not the literal embodiment of this unfiltered hatred, but instead the vessel chosen to house it. What I’m sayin’ is that Ganondorf, as a baby, is possessed by this entity, forced into the destiny in which he will continue to reincarnate for the purpose of wrecking havoc upon the land that has vanquished the evil that has its hold on his soul.

-To continue with the above context, the reason this Ganondorf isn’t evil is because, during the BotW events, the Malice had relinquished its hold on Ganon’s soul, giving up reincarnation in exchange for absolute raw power in a last ditch effort to purge of the heroes going against it. As we all know, it ultimately failed, and without its hold on its vessel and being too weak to reclaim it, the majority of the Malice is entirely destroyed. Hyrule, essentially, is now free from Demise’s Malice, and in that same breath Ganon, when he is reincarnated, is finally allowed to be born as a normal Gerudo. Mostly.

-Ganondorf may be free from the hold of Malice but it’s left a permanent mark on his soul and forever will. This mark is physically represented in a birthmark in the shape of the scar Demise gained when it was slain by the goddesses: a huge gash-like marking over the chest. The mark is more than physical too: Ganondorf is often plagued by nightmares of past-lives he isn’t fully aware he’s lived, visions of the atrocities he’s committed as a puppet to Demise’s control. Sometimes the birthmark bothers him, giving him a faint burning sensation as if he had singed himself: the echoes of the mortal blow Demise felt when struck down. I’d imagine he’d be quite troubled by this, maybe to the point of seeking out answers as to why he’s being plagued like so. Could be the reason why he meets Link in the first place in this timeline, perhaps?

-While I mentioned Ganon was the current Champion of the Gerudo in my previous post I think I’m gonna retcon it for this idea instead: Ganondorf didn’t live with the Gerudo, nor the Goron. Though his parents did visit their home villages often to better expose their son to their respective cultures, they lived in relative solitude in a beautiful oasis, where Ganon lived most of his young life quite happily (despite the ailments described above). It’s only as an adult that he finally grows tired of suffering these strange afflictions and decides to set off for answers.

-All Gerudo, even the half-blooded ones, have the ability to transform into huge pig-like creatures that are often called a Boartusk. While in this beastial form the individual still retains their intelligence, though they are more prone to impulse and more sensitive to their emotions than normal. This form grants colossus strength and stronger resilience against injury thanks to their tough hide and thick manes. Their tusks are strong but, if broken, can grow back. There’s only so many times the tusks can break before they simply stop growing back though.

The Boartusk above is Ganondorf’s beastial form. He really enjoys taking this shape and often will any chance he gets, especially if it’s in wide open areas: wide space allows him to gallop and tear across the fields without worry of hurting someone in the process.
