birds are the superior lifeform because they have built in hair product 

so the reason birds keep reaching for the base of their tail when they clean themselves is because there’s a gland there (which wikipedia so cheerfully refers to as “grease nipple-like”) that makes a wax that they use to clean their feathers and keep them looking cool and nice. Only a few families of birds don’t have this.

i bring this up because i want you all to know that any and all characters that happen to have feathers probably also have preen glands
