The worst part is that what if he had to take those wooden necklaces off from corpses of air nomads just to wear it

Maybe he had to make them himself idk but like the thought that he had to revive his own people or keep their memory alive like this, and he wants to keep the philosophy of his people alive, their traditions and choose to be a pacifist but people wanna say he is selfish. Lmao like okay.
