Europe is currently being burned alive and people still think climate change is a joke. It’s warmer in North Europe than in the middle eastern deserts.

Nearly all northern countries broke their decades old heat records this week.

Its only in the low hundreds in farenheit??? In America we get that for like a month or two straight every year??? Y'all need to deal is it really normally so cold over there that yall can live with a little heat???

It is normal in the south, but not in the north, where for example in Norway, usually in the summer, they have Spain’s winter temperatures

I assure you, it’s not normal even in the south. My friend, who lives in Trento (look it up, north-west of Venice), had nearly 43° C. That is absolutely not normal.
I can only hope that we don’t touch the 54° C we had last year where I leave, near Milan. Let that sink: fucking 54 degrees Celsius.
To my northern European friends - and whoever else is suffering from these extreme temperatures - I can only say: take care of your elderly and your kids, drink lots of water, stay in the shade as much as you can, use sunscreen and for the love of god, avoid going out between 11 and 2pm if you can!

How fucking thick do you have to be to think that “this climate that is extremely abnormal for you is normal for me - a person who lives in a completely different part of the world - therefore it is not a problem.” Yes, it is actually a problem if the climate changes, you fool.

(Rant directed a few reblogs up, obviously.)

Places that aren’t used to this sort of heat are typically ill equipped to handle that situation because it’s so unusual. Not to mention that temperature tolerance is going to differ depending on what a person is used to where they live in the world. Rather than saying “oh I deal with hot weather so you should too” which is ignorant of how others may be dealing with this, maybe instead give insight to ways one can deal with extreme heat if it’s something you personally know how to handle.
