I remember a John mulaney quote (and yes the horrible irony of starting off with that statement is not lost on me) from his horse in the hospital but that people always leave out: “But when people say, “How come you were never mad at the last guy?” I say, “Because I wasn’t paying attention.” I used to pay less attention before it was a horse.
