what if the golden girls can still assume their goddess forms after their mortal bodies die and thats the cost of losing their memories. like zelda remembers being hylia and is more in tune with her goddess blood but can never return to being a goddess while din nayru and farore can return to being a goddess but they dont remember theyre goddesses when theyre mortal

GOLDEN GIRLS! I’m so sorry but that amused the hell outta me, picturing the goddesses as a bunch of sassy old ladies bantering at each other. xD

But as far as the suggestion goes it’s a really good one! Hylia giving up her godhood entirely to be a mortal could be exactly why her reincarnations are far more stable in comparison to that of her sisters, who could have chosen mortal bodies but never fully gave up being goddesses.

In that case though, I could always go the route the Dragon Guardians go and make it so the Golden Goddesses simply use mortal disguises? In which they aren’t actually mortal at all but they seem like it, since it’s simply a disguise to live in the world unhindered.

Unless… maybe the creation of the Triforce has something to do with their loss in memory? With how the Triforce is described, it kinda sounds like Farore, Nayru, and Din each gave a significant part of themselves in order to create it so, giving up so much of themselves to create the Triforce could have affected the way their reincarnation cycle worked. Hmm….
