This is literal Nazi policy, making an entire ethnic group subject to questions of citizenship. That is literally how Jewish Germans lost German citizenship during the early days of the Holocaust even if they were born in Germany and lived their whole lives in Germany and only spoke German and they still ended up in ghettos and eventually camps.
