okay so i think, sprinkled all through out balance, we see moments of taako breaking out of his “taako’s good out here” archtype, not out of justin playing him ooc, but in a way where taako lets it show through, even for a second, that he does actually care about people and that he is loyal
and, tbh, i think my favorite moment of that is when taako, in episode two of eleventh hour, rushes into the burning bank. like, he’s in a town that he’s not familiar with and he knows literally no one except for two people, and yet, with his stone skin, he’s rushing into a building burning down bc not only did magnus just rush in there, but he also knows that there are other people in there who need help
like idk if i’m explaining that right but i just love hearing justin say, “hell yeah i’m going in that building!” like fuck i love justin/taako
taako telling the dwarven banker (whose name i cannot remember), “just relax, we’re gonna get you outside, okay?” in the calmest, softest voice when the bank is burning down?
another great taako moment is when taako is given the chance to not fight the hunger, hes at risk of dying if he stays and is given a chance to retreat. he pulls out the immovable rod and uses it to sturdy himself and says “taako’s good out here” because like. That phrase has been used as a justification for him hanging back where its safe and now its used in a context where he’s going to remain in the heart of danger and fight until a threat theyve been running from for over a century is finally defeated. hes good out here with his friends facing the hunger head on. to protect everyone he cares about from angus to killian to avi. everyone they met. taako is a great character.
