someone pls give me encouragement or advice to clean/rearrange my room ;_;
if its anything like my room, the majority of mess is cloths scattered on the floor. The quickest way to clean would be to have a laundrey day and then while the cloths are washing do a quick sweep or vaccume depending on whether its carpet or hard floor

I find that putting things into categories based on what I want to DO with them sometimes helps (ex. Display/put up on my walls, Use something consistently so it should be easily accessible, throw out, put into some sort of storage, etc.) it puts things into more bite sized pieces so I can deal with the mess one step at a time

Put some energizing music on and just start. I know it’s hard but it won’t get easier the longer you wait

One thing at a time! If it seems overwhelming just grab one thing outta the pile at random and put it away. Keeps my mental clutter down catsandcataclysms said: You can do it Hal !!!

juliuscaesarofficial said: you can do it! my technique for Big Mess Cleaning is basically “trash, laundry, neither”. get a bag, a basket, and a general area to pile shit on the floor and youre good to go. shove trash in the bag, throw clothes in the basket, and everything else can be sorted through after. for like general rearranging shit i just move anything off of the top of whatever im moving and make sure the floors as clear as i can manage without losing my mind.

fishlordvehem said: OOOH i have lots of advice for room cleaning. if you want to clean it all at once just put Everything in a big pile somewhere and sort things out from there! or instead of that you could work on a little section of your room at a time and take breaks between sections. i also like to limit myself to working 5-30 minutes and then take a break and then go right back to work for 5-30 min and then take another break and so on–that makes things less overwhelming
