steven + feeling “useless”

What I found most tragic about Steven’s gem getting all messed with in the movie is how it caused him to immediately regress back into that early season 1 mindset wherein… his worth and usefulness to others is solely measured by his ability to control his powers. Makes me sense that there’s still a lot of inner insecurities he needs to unpack there, regardless of how adept he is with his Gem abilities now.
