i remember when overwatch came out the industry papers were honestly asking ‘can this game survive only on being fun?’ as though it were a foreign concept, and then effort was made to remove a portion of the fun to replace it with lootbox mechnics and people left to play fortnite because it was fun and then some of the fun was replaced with lootbox mechanics so people left to play minecraft
