There are two kinds of people. Those who think, “I don’t want anyone to suffer like I did.” And those who think, “I suffered; why shouldn’t they?”
This is an important distinction.
Or both. At the same time. Because being human is really complicated and being hurt and angry isn’t always rational.
I think the third comment is very important because thinking in black and white can be really dangerous, but making excuses for people can be just as equally dangerous.
