these rich men really were like, paint me in this powdered wig so people hundreds of years later will look upon my portrait to see how cool and handsome i was, without even thinking about how stupid they would look if their silly clown wigs went out of fashion. hundreds of years worth of noble men portrayed immortally as dusty fools because of the way fashion changed. its what they deserve.
George Washington really thought he looked so good in this, that everyone had to see him like this for the hundreds of years to come.
