Bodily autonomy, as it relates to the simple rule of not touching someone else without consent, is one of those things that lots of people agree with in theory, but everywhere I see people thinking there’s exceptions for different groups they view as lesser

People: try to touch women to ‘guide’ them with their hand on the woman’s back

People: try to touch Black women’s hair

Me: bodily autonomy applies to Black women

People: try to move disabled people in their chair or lift them up

People: use little people or dwarfs’ heads as arm rests as a ‘joke’

Me: bodily autonomy applies to little people

People: try to restrain children who are stimming

Me: bodily autonomy applies to autistic kids

People: try to touch strippers while they’re at work

Me: bodily autonomy applies to sex workers

People: literally cannot get this concept somehow

Me: bodily autonomy applies to EVERYONE. Everybody. Every body. If they have a body, they have bodily autonomy. Stop touching people without consent.
