I hope somewhere in Pokemon canon its addressed about how there the line between human and pokemon can sometimes be thin, such as when it comes to ghost pokemon.  And the implications of such.

i remember reading the real explination is that pokemon tend to draw their designs from their surrounding and yamasks tended to hang around graveyars occasionally so they would make their masks look like the faces of those buried rather than be the souls of the dearly departed…. Also the pokedex entries are written by 10 year olds
