dragons need vast hoards of wealth to pay the toll into the draconic afterlife when they pass so that they can become dragon spirits or meld into the land in which they lived in (the latter is why theres dragon shaped caves)
without their vast hoards the dragons would be trapped as angry ghosts in constant pain trapped in the mortal realm.
dragons need their wealth for a very real reason.
humans hoarding wealth does nothing but weaken the economy by refusing to recirculate it and inflating the currency. i dont remember the point of my rant but we should kill jeff bezos feed his corpse to a dragon
