imagine you’re an art student. you have a lot of natural talent. you get an internship with a major network. and then 9/11 happens and you’re like ‘i bet i could help fix this with music’ so you form a punk band. the band gets popular. REALLY popular. like, genre defining popular. you’re the frontman of, arguably, the biggest punk band of your generation. and then a few years later you’re like ‘you know what. i’m done with this. i’m gonna write some comics.’ and you do and win an eisner award and create a whole ass new version of spiderman. and then a few years after THAT you’re like ‘maybe i should do that whole band thing again’ so you announce it and people lose their fucking minds. gerard way is the weirdest man alive. i’d die for him.
