metatextual analysis of the spirit of homestuck and homestuck2

Homestuck 1 was about john. specifically his unique trait of “optimism in the face of stoic skepticism” it was the driving force of the comic. how no matter how bad things got john believed there was a way to fix it.

And thats what makes homsestuck 2 different. johns out of the picture. hes god knows where in candy and his meat self is dead in terezis wallet. they try to be optimistic but without windy man there, everyone can tell theyre just faking.


That being said, i believe that when john does return it will be a huge turning point for HS2 and it will start to feel like classic homestuck again.
