Finished fmab anyway cannot stop thinking abt the scene where Al sacrificed his life just so ed could get his arm back and fight. Like when Truth asked him “are you sure he’ll come back for you?” Al didnt even HESITATE to say “yes, absolutely.” With all the confidence in the world.

Then you parallel that scene with ed going to get al back and truth asks him if hes sure he wanted to give up his alchemy and lose all that power, again, no hesitation. Ed doesnt flinch, doesnt waver, doesn’t have flashbacks back to all the stuff he did bc of alchemy. He gave it all up without remorse or grief bc in the end none of that mattered. None of it mattered bc he had his friends. Bc he had Al. And that was all he needed.

And when they’re leaving together, al is just smiling at ed bc he knew all along that his brother would do the right thing.
