The fact that the chainsaw works on demons is just a lucky coincidence, he actually just wanted to help build a cabin in town

eventually doom guy and isabelle decide to swap jobs to see how it is. Doom guy is surprisingly effective at allocating the towns resources to various projects. predictably, with her experience in politics, isabelle is quite effective at dealing with demons
