whatever your opinion about aang not killing ozai, I think we can all agree that ozai would have literally rather died than live the rest of his life as That Guy Who Got The Shit Kicked Outta Him By A 12-Year-Old Pacifist Monk.
me: aang is a very powerful avatar and the fact that he was able to mostly-master all the elements at such a young age means he would be a terrifying opponent!
also me: avatar roku’s spirit spends at least 30% of his time haunting ozai, slapping trash can lids together & yelling “you got beat up by caillou”
#this kid hides lemurs in his shirt and holds secret dance parties for people hes known for two days#the fire lord lost to that kid?? hes over there dancing?? hes making it snow so he can play in it#and youre telling me#that this kid defeated the guy controlling the most threating nation in the world#aang#atla (very good tags via @te-aangs)
tbh i’m obsessed with the idea that the fire nation has, like, wild levels of propaganda about the avatar: that the avatar spirit is some kind of face-stealer that occupies the body of a new host every generation, that he’s not really human, that he’s some kind of *Air Nation* war weapon (lmao).
and then people actually meet aang and he unilaterally declares friendship and immediately starts asking if people want to see his cool fidget spinner trick or how many fire flakes he can eat before he throws up and all the fire nation nobles collectively lose their fucking minds.
consider how the ember island players would edit their play after the defeat of ozai
