Kinda unhappy with this one, had too much story/ideas in my mind, but too few pages lol.
Anyway, the message is still important. Rabbits often suffer from poor keeping and are often abandoned, especially around Easter time.

this is how we got binky

BE MINDFUL, PEOPLE

signal boost because Easter is coming up

Please never buy any animal on impulse. There is no such thing as an easy pet, they all need space, enrichment and care.

I love and adore rabbits, and I still struggle when I try to understand why people do this, why they put their animal in a small cage and don’t even try to share their life with their new friend

I’ve raised rabbits for some 15-odd years and I frequently have to warn people off from coming to rabbit shows or to breeders just to buy a cute little bunny for their children to have for Easter.

Rabbits are super duper cute and they’re incredibly intelligent animals–cleaner than a cat and just as trainable as a dog but with even better memory–but they’re also at least a 10 year commitment, if not longer.

They need at least 1-4 hours of exercise per day, they need their cages cleaned at least once a week, they need their nails trimmed and vents cleaned at least once a month, they need constant fresh water and food changes on a daily basis, and should be brushed out (NOT BATHED!!!) when they start to moult one to two times a year, their teeth should be checked daily or at least once a week, and some time should be taken to socialize with them daily.

Rabbits are “easy keepers” but that doesn’t mean that they’re “no effort” keepers. You still gotta keep up with their physical and social needs on a daily basis for their lifetime.

If you want to get your kids a cute fluffy bunny, buy them a nice bunny plushie instead. They’ll enjoy it just as much as, if not more than, a real rabbit.
