Know what'd be cool? Everyone having a 4 hour workday, and getting paid a living wage for those 4 hours. Whether that's done by min wage laws, UBI, or both. Businesses can still operate at the hours they want by having multiple shifts. You want to be open 12 hours a day? Staff three shifts. You want to be open 24/7? Staff 6 shifts. Know what this does? Creates jobs and improves quality of life for all involved.

my first thought on this would be that commuting for just a four hour shift would be a bitch, but of course the answer to that is having affordable housing near where people need to work, and/or remote work options for the jobs that can support them.
