theres a lot of stuff you can do with ashes.

Theres special biodegradable urns that have tree seeds in them so that a tree can grow from your ashes.

theres a company that will compress your ashes into diamonds. 

theres a company that can shoot your ashes into space.

And the aforementioned hourglass urns

Basically imo cremation is the way to go because Theres many ways to use the ashes to honor the memory or hold them dear or return them to nature.
