does anyone else remember being in, like, middle school and every adult over the age of 30 being like “drawing or writing on your hands is literally the most EVIL thing you can do and can KILL you”

Yeah, what the fuck was that about? They literally acted like they were satanic symbols or something.

so like, ink is MILDLY toxic and you CAN get ink poisoning, but like, a fountain pen can’t even hold enough ink to poison you if you were to SUCK THE INK OUT OF IT AND SWALLOW IT, the worst you’d get is a stained mouth and MAYBE a mildly upset stomach. Like, WHO has even chimed in on it and said as much.

You’d have to SUBMERGE YOUR HANDS IN INK FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME to remotely get ink poisoning off drawing on your skin, and it would have to stay liquid, not just “drawn all over your hands and then the ink dried”.

No idea where our parents and teachers got the idea that we could poison ourselves by drawing on our skin but, basically, you can’t.

unless you’re that homestuck cosplayer who bathed in sharpies, you’ll be fine.
