so who else gets irrationally afraid and embarrassed about their interests being known to people in real life

i had a really toxic “friend” once who whenever i expressed that i liked something they didnt theyd attack my opinion until i have to give a full dissertation on why i like it.
there shouldnt have to be any answer beyond “because i like it”
