To counter the right-wing talking point: The combined military budgets of China and Russian, our two main adversaries, is around $180b. If we cut our military budget by 25%, the budget would still be over $550b, over TWICE as much as China and Russia combined.

If we can’t have a military that is better equipped, better trained and more highly motivated than China or Russia at “only” twice their budgets, adding more money to the budget will do nothing to fix that.
