If anyone HASN’T seen the hubbub on art twitter; Jake Parker, the guy who started & branded Inktober is releasing a new book—a repackaged copy of Alphonso Dunn’s Pen & Ink Drawing. Alphonso is a Black artist who literally quit his full time job to write his book; it took 3.5 years and countless hours of figuring out just the right way to teach the subject. Watching his side-by-side comparison made it so much worse as Alphonso explains his thought process; this is one of those cases where words cannot explain how similar the two books are, you just need to experience the video yourself.
This is terrible behavior, especially from the person who was all about copyright and branding, to have turned around and violated someone ELSE’S ideas so egregiously.
Anyhoo, support Alphonso Dunn’s work Pen & Ink Drawing ; Pen & Ink Drawing Workbook
